Today we’re excited to announce the product version of our Atlas® robot. This enterprise-grade humanoid robot offers impressive strength and range of motion, precise manipulation, and intelligent adaptability—designed for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability. Atlas is built to power the new industrial revolution.

Our goal is to deliver value from Atlas’ first steps with a customer through to scaled, skilled fleets. To achieve that goal, we focused on an iterative design informed by our experience deploying 2000-plus Spot® and Stretch® robots into diverse customer operations around the globe over the past five years, as well as extensive testing with Atlas both in our lab and in the field.

Our partnership with Hyundai Motor Group is propelling us further. As a leader in mobility and a manufacturing powerhouse, Hyundai understands what is required to deliver this transformation at scale, planning to build a new robotics factory capable of producing thousands of robots per year. And Hyundai is our first customer, with a completed deployment last year and a fleet scheduled to ship to the Robotics Metaplant Application Center (RMAC) in 2026, underscoring the depth of their confidence in Atlas’ promise.

Automation without Hassle

Our hardware was built with adaptability in mind, to perform a wide range of tasks in warehouses and factories. Atlas is designed to share sites with people and other robots, maximizing your team’s flexibility and productivity. The robot will be able to get straight to work without the extra bolted-down infrastructure or retrofitting that’s typical of other industrial automation.

Augment your teams

At 1.9 meters (6.2 feet) tall with a 2.3 meter (7.5 foot) reach, Atlas can work in the same environment your team does. However, it can also work in environments that they shouldn’t. Atlas’ operational temperature range is -20° to 40°C (-4° to 104°F) and it can handle repeated 30 kg (66 lbs) lifts with ease, eliminating ergonomic strain and reducing the risk of workplace injuries for staff.

Leveraging best practices from the autonomous vehicle industry, Atlas has an onboard safety system to help it detect people and vehicles in busy workplaces. This allows for operation with fenceless guarding; if a person walks by within a certain radius, the robot pauses and waits for them to pass. The robot is also designed with padding and minimal pinch points as added safety precautions around people.

Autonomous power swap for continuous operation

Atlas was designed to operate within standard shift schedules. It features a four hour battery life during typical use, and can autonomously swap its own batteries in less than three minutes, enabling continuous 24/7 operations. Its charging system is designed to fit your existing infrastructure: 110V or 220V input means there is no need for rewiring or expensive electrical cabinets and maximizes battery life span.

Robotics with ROI

Over the past five years, we’ve deployed thousands of mobile robots into customers’ operations around the world. We know ROI takes more than a flashy demo. Atlas meets the needs of demanding factory operators—easy to use, predictable, and able to perform day-in and day-out for years to come.

Intuitive controls

Atlas can work autonomously, but can also be manually controlled using a VR headset or a tablet controller. Operators can also remotely monitor Atlas, track metrics, and assign new work with our Orbit™ platform, which is designed to orchestrate and manage your robotics fleet. Orbit enables powerful workflow integrations, connecting Atlas to your Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Warehouse Management System (WMS), or other systems of record. Other workflow integrations include barcode scanning and RFID.

Fast training

Atlas will deliver an intelligent, adaptable foundation out of the box, customizable for your application in less than a day. Built using the latest advancements in AI, Atlas is ready for a range of applications in the warehouse and the factory, including part sequencing, machine tending, order fulfillment, and more. Once Atlas learns a new task, that functionality can easily be deployed across your entire Atlas fleet.

Our partnership with DeepMind will supercharge these capabilities, enabling Atlas to learn new tasks faster, to understand the context of its worksites, and to help your team maximize the value of its operational data.

Built for the long-haul

Not only is Atlas’ software scalable to open up new applications and functionality over time, the robot’s hardware was also designed with longevity and upgradeability in mind. With an IP67 rating, Atlas can be sprayed or wiped down, making it easy to clean and maintain even in dirty environments.

We limited the number of motors used throughout the robot to eliminate complexity. Moreover, all of Atlas’ limbs can be replaced in the field in under five minutes, for ease of service and repair. From head to toe, every piece of Atlas’ hardware was built to reduce failure points and enable easy upgrades. There will also be training and certification paths to empower your onsite maintenance teams to maintain your fleet.

Enterprise Intelligence

Atlas is powered by the latest AI technology to understand, orchestrate, and reshape the world in useful ways. Our team has made impressive strides, using AI to enable robots not only to move smoothly and perform diverse tasks, but also to understand the context of their environment and help people unlock insights about their facilities and operations. With Spot, Stretch, and Orbit, these advancements are already adding substantive value for customers and enabling us to supercharge the next stage of enterprise AI with real-world operational data.

Your path to the factory of the future

We’re building end-to-end solutions to our customer’s most impactful automation challenges—including the software, services, training, and more that enable our customers to succeed. Atlas will add value from day one, and much like Spot and Stretch, most customers will see ROI within the first two years of adoption.

We have the enterprise-grade capabilities to support scale and security out of the gate. Orbit is SOC2 Type II certified, supports SSO and robust user permissioning, and can be deployed in the cloud, on-prem, or as a virtual machine. Our training team is ready to level up your Atlas operators, while our integration and field services teams are confident working with your operations, innovation, facilities, IT, and safety teams.

We know how to help you minimize disruption and operationalize your robots faster. Current Spot and Stretch will not only have a head start in operational readiness and change management to adopt this transformative new technology, they’ll also be able to take advantage of turnkey integration of Atlas into their existing Orbit instance.

We are starting to work with select customers to evaluate, train, and perfect feature-rich, autonomous material handling solutions. Now we want to hear how Atlas can help you.
